Why A Plan Matters

why a plan matters

Thanks to Stephen Jones, the President of our CBD company for his training on our December kick off call!  It inspired me to write about ‘why a plan matters’, especially in this world of uncertainly.  I believe, it’s totally up to each of us to follow a plan, stick to it and not depend on anyone else or anything else.

You see, we need to have the right plan and stick to it.  Even if you’re off course by 2 degrees, it can put your business in jeopardy.  In business, it’s never about failure, only feedback, so check your work regularly, course correct and make the necessary adjustments.  Here are steps on how to stick to the plan:

Determine why you want the plan to succeed

Most people’s initial ‘why’ is to make money.  But it has to be more than that.  For example, my ‘why’ is to spend as much time as possible with my family and I can do that, thanks to my freedom lifestyle business.  I just got back from 2 weeks with my daughter and grand daughter and it was so wonderful, even with the craziness of her moving from one home to another.  We can’t get time back, I know, but if we plan to do the best with our time, then it’s worthwhile.

Set your goals

Set daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals along with daily action steps.  And don’t forget to check them regularly – what’s working, what’s not working.  Then readjust accordingly.  So many people in direct sales and network marketing lose momentum because they don’t treat their business like a business.  Goals are not wishes!!

Track your progress

When performance is measured and tracked, it will guarantee results.  If not tracked, you won’t know where you’re going and what skills you need to improve upon.  When you start a new business or even when you start a new fitness program, tracking your progress sets you up for success.  As Stephen Covey says, “always begin with the end in mind”.

Focus on what you need to do

As Ralph Waldo Emerson, said, “an ounce of action is worth a ton of theory“.  In our direct sales business model, new team members are fortunate to be coached by success leaders on business building, recruiting, customer service, and bringing value to the marketplace.  It is the ultimate win-win and if done right, cashflow and passive income will be your reward in the short term and in the long term.

Have fun and reward yourself

Make sure to celebrate the small victories along the way.  Celebrate your team member’s efforts and successes as well.  We’re all in this together and that is why a plan matters.

Set your sail and keep going

We all have similar challenges in this world, so it’s up to us to deal with the adversities and the disappointments and to just keep going.  What are you prepared to do to stick to the plan?  I’m here for you, so reach out here and we can chat about what you need to keep going:).
