What does your DMO look like? If you’re not familiar with this acronym, it is your daily method of operation. I’m here to tell you that you have to get good at this, otherwise your business will struggle.
Yes, I’m speaking from experience!
Recently, I was reading the book “Time – Money – Freedom” by Ray and Jessica Higdon and in it they explain the rule ‘Create Successful Habits’ for reshaping your life.
It’s a great book for all entrepreneurs and especially those in the network marketing space because it outlines 10 simple rules for being all you can be.
Let’s talk about your DMO.
We all have habits – some are good and some are not so good. And the not so good ones can really hold us back. But it doesn’t have to be that way!
When you think about it, in business or in relationships for that matter any aspect of life, you must have the right habits to be successful.
You don’t become a great body builder without following certain daily habits or a top notch athlete or a great musician. The list goes on.
Creating the right habits make up your DMO.
As I coach other entrepreneurs in the network marketing profession, I’m surprised at how many people think they don’t have to create successful DMO habits.
Without doing the certain daily, weekly, monthly habits, you will absolutely struggle.
As Jessica and Ray simply state in their book, “People are aware of what it takes to succeed; most are just not willing to do it.”
And then when the business does not succeed, they blame the model. But no business and no business model will work if you don’t have the right habits.
So what basic habits do you need?
First and foremost, you need a daily method of operation or DMO. What does that look like?
Tasks you will do every day, no matter what – outreach to your network, lead generation, email prospects, share information on social media, set up meetings, go to meetings, followup on leads, attend team trainings and read/listen to inspirational leaders.
At times, it may feel mundane, but the job has to get done, otherwise you will fail.
This means having a daily planner for your DMO and then an online calendar where clients, team members, leaders and prospects can see and fit themselves into your schedule.
This is not rocket science but this DMO has to be the number one habit if you want to get the business going.
