How To Become A Great Leader

Reading time: minute(s)

How to become a great leader?  We have all come across great leaders during our lifetime.

Some are parents, teachers, mentors, business people and some are from our community and so on.

Some are great, stand out and motivate us.

Others, well, we only follow them out of curiosity.

So what makes a great leader particularly in my industry of network marketing?

I believe that inside of network marketing, it requires a different kind of leadership.

Because of the business model.

You don’t have employees that you can manage and delegate to do things.

You have a team who may be part time or full time, essentially a volunteer army.

They are working from home who you may not see every day and who joined your team because of you, the products and the business opportunity.

So what kind of leader do you need to be then in network marketing?

You attract people through your attitude towards life and the business.

Positivity is what you are all about.  You are motivated and empower others to be the best they can be.

You believe in yourself and the business.

You are a good communicator, one who is in touch regularly with team members and your upline leaders.

You’re good at presenting to new clients, one who can talk easily and confidently about the business.

You do what you tell your team to do, which means you set the example that your team will emulate.

You have to show them what is doable.  That means following the process.

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” – John C Maxwell.

Your team needs to know that they can come to you for the guidance and knowledge they need to be successful in the business.  You are organized and stay at top of your meetings, calls and appointments.

This is your business not a hobby.

No one would be part of your business if they cannot count on you to show up.

You have to be respectful of and patient with all team members.  Some will progress quickly, others will take longer, some will need more help, but they all deserve your respect.

True leaders always practice the three R’s – respect for self, respect for others and responsibility for all their actions.” – Anonymous

You are great at acknowledging and celebrating your team’s accomplishments on a regular basis.

A good leader praises in public and course corrects in private.

And finally, you must have integrity.

You are honest and transparent with your upline leaders, team members and prospects about the business.  They all know you speak the truth and have their interests at heart.

I know there are probably other traits that will come to mind, but I have watched great leaders in this network marketing business over the years.  And to me these qualities stood out.

Let’s chat about your leadership goals and where you want to go in your journey as an entrepreneur.
