Steps to Finding Success with Network Marketing

When you start network marketing, it’s essential that you lay a foundation that will help you be successful. While there isn’t any one thing you can do to guarantee success, I’ve created seven steps that will help you start making sales and earning money. Every product and business will require a very specific business plan. Your plan will help you stay focused and determine what you need to do to make it big as a network marketer. But, there are some overall steps that all network marketers should know.

Step 1: Use Your Own Products

You can’t sell something you don’t know and haven’t experienced. The best way to know your product is to use it yourself. When you use your own products, you’ll have personal experience to rely on as you promote its features, tell people what it can do for them and sell it. Using your own products will help you create a passion for them. You’ll know first-hand how invaluable they are and persuading people of their value will become much easier.

Passion will give you drive and ambition to help you be successful in this business. When you use your products, you will also become more trustworthy in the eyes of your potential customers. People will be more likely to buy from you if you can tell them from your own experience how great your products are.

Step 2: Stop Selling and Recommend

Yes, network marketing is about making sales, but instead of focusing on that; focus on recommending your products. As you network and meet new people, listen for ways your products can provide solutions. This way, you aren’t making a hard sale; you’re helping someone out.

One of the reasons people are afraid to start network marketing or hesitant to put their all into it is that they worry they will have to approach their friends and family for sales. No one wants to be that family member or friend who is always looking for a new customer. Providing recommendations is a way to tell people about your product without having to become the local salesperson. This friendlier approach can bring much better results, as your new clients will feel that you have their best interest in mind and are invested in helping them. You might be surprised, but recommending your products instead of selling them is the best way to make a lot of sales consistently.

Step 3: Treat It Like a Real Business

One of the biggest mistakes network marketers make is not treating their work like a business. To be successful you need to treat your business seriously, make wise decisions that will bring long-term benefits and create a business plan that will help you grow and earn more. As a business coach I work with network marketers and business owners everywhere, and one of the first things I help them do is set goals and create a business plan. Without these two things, you lack direction and won’t be able to move forward in a way that allows you to work less and earn more.

Treat network marketing like a real business by holding yourself and your team members accountable, being strategic and analyzing options before you make decisions. These three steps are the first of seven that will help you find success with network marketing. When you use these steps in your business and rely on them as you grow and find more opportunities, your entire business will expand and you will earn a higher income.
