How to Design Your Life Around Less Work

Reading time: minute(s)

Everyone wants to know if they can work less and still make more money. In fact, one of the most common things I help people with is finding ways to earn a higher income while still being able to attain the ultimate freedom lifestyle that lets them spend time with family, travel and develop hobbies.

My answer to this question? “Absolutely!”

Personally, I have found success in network marketing and real estate investments. I have learned how to make more while working less in my network marketing business and then I invested some earnings from my business into real estate, which has become a large asset and helped me increase my income even more without increasing the amount of time I spend working.

This kind of lifestyle is attainable by anyone. When I work with business owners, one of our goals is often to free up time and resources so they can still make more money, but aren’t tied to their jobs 24/7. One of the biggest perks that comes with network marketing or owning your own business is the ability to achieve a better work-life balance, so what’s holding you back?

Work to Live, don’t Live to Work

Have you heard this phrase before? Approach your business with the attitude that it helps you provide the lifestyle you want, but that your life is so much more than that.

Yes, you need to dedicate your time and efforts to making your business be successful, but you don’t need to be a workaholic who can’t step away from her desk. Remember your “why,” or the thing that made you decide to get into business for yourself, and then make sure your business actually lets you achieve that.

If you started your home business so you would have family time, make sure your business doesn’t prevent you from spending quality time with your family. Make a schedule that includes “you” time and then stick to it.

Learn to Get the Most out of Minimal Efforts

One of the biggest success secrets in network marketing is learning how to get the most out of every effort you put into it. Learn how to achieve great things by only spending as much time on your business as necessary, be willing to delegate and build up a passive income.

Passive, or residual, income, is all about earning a continued income for a single piece of work. Take this theory to its fullest potential by finding ways you can continue to make a living on work you have already done. Network marketing, real estate investments and creative works sales and copyright royalties are all examples of things that can bring this kind of income.

Recognize “Great” vs. “Good” Opportunities

Learn to differentiate between great business opportunities and the ones that are just good. Great opportunities are the ones that require minimal effort but are great investments or bring high returns. They are the ones that will help your business grow and bring long-term benefits. Learn to recognize and take these opportunities and pass on those that aren’t as valuable.

This simple step will give you time to focus on things that will bring bigger results and prevent you from wasting your time on things that really aren’t worth it, giving you even more freedom.

Sometimes you’ll have the time and resources to take on the good opportunities in addition to the great ones, but the ones that will take your business further and give you more income and freedom should be prioritized.

I know from personal experience that it really is possible to design your life around the idea of working less. These tips can help you take the first steps to gaining more freedom and working less while earning more.
