The Urgency Mindset and How to Have It

Reading time: minute(s)

What if I told you that you already have what it takes to be successful, you just need to tap into it to reap the benefits and rewards?  Well, that’s exactly what I’m telling you.

Ryan Chamberlin, a well-known author and entrepreneur, speaks about the Law of Urgency. He explains that how quickly we accomplish our goals is important, and that we already have what we need to be successful. I am a firm believer in this theory, and believe it can help network marketers, business leaders and those starting a home based business reach their highest potential.

The Urgency Mindset Explained

The urgency mindset is the idea that in order to reach the highest levels of success, we need to constantly be actively pursuing our goals and that we need to learn to reach inside ourselves to find what we already have to be successful.

To illustrate this theory, Chamberlin uses a story about a poor farmer who didn’t know he had millions of dollars of oil under his land until he agreed to let an oil company drill on his property. The farmer had what he needed, enough to make him wildly successful, the whole time. He just didn’t know it.

Are you like the poor farmer? Have you yet to discover what you already have that will make you successful?

The answer is “yes.” We are all like the farmer in the story because we all have skills, talents and abilities that will help us find success, we just need to tap into them and use them.

Adopt the Urgency Mindset and Tap into Your Potential

To tap into your potential and find success, you need to adopt the urgency mindset. This means approaching your business with the attitude that it requires action, focus and attention. It means having an attitude that your business is top priority.

Achieve Goals Quickly

One of the best ways to do this is to constantly set and pursue goals. Of course, it does take time to achieve some goals, but the concept is to be anxiously working toward them. Don’t set goals and then forget about them or put them off. Set meaningful goals and then do what it takes to achieve them.

Identify Your “Why”

I coach my clients to help them find their “why.” When you understand why you are doing what you are doing, why you want to run your business and what motivates you, you will develop a sense of urgency. Your business and goals will become your number-one priority.

Look Inside Yourself

We have a tendency to look outside ourselves for success. We think: “If only I had this my business would be more successful” or “When I know how to do this I will get more clients.” Instead of entertaining these thoughts and having this attitude, look inside yourself.

Analyze what your talents and skills are and find ways they can benefit your business. If you want, you can actually write these things down and then find ways to leverage them so that they help you become a better businessperson or grow your passive income.

You already have what it takes to be successful, you just need to identify it and then use it. When you have a mindset of urgency, you will be able to recognize your assets and be able to find ways to leverage them so your business will be even more successful.
