My Friends Thought I Was Crazy

Reading time: minute(s)

When I got out of the weekend seminar and told my friends about what I had just experienced, they thought I was crazy!

Yes. Crazy.

Little did I know that they would not understand as to how a personal development seminar would absolutely change my life!

It was foreign to most people, including me.

I had never heard of this idea of sitting in a seminar all weekend long from early morning to late at nite.  My franchise partners suggested I attend, so following their advice (skeptically) I went with them.

I was only 24 years old just starting my franchise and trying to learn the business.  Why in the world would I need a personal growth seminar now?

Well, I found out.

I was flabbergasted by how many people in that room believed in this stuff! It felt almost cult-like:)

Very long days and very late nights!  It was really an immersion of sorts.

But in the end it was the most rewarding thing I had ever done. It changed my life at a very young age.

It changed my attitude, it changed my belief in myself and what I was capable of.

It changed me!

I came away from it far better than I was before.

As a result of that seminar, I always move forward, not backwards. Personally and professionally.

I became an entrepreneur, an author, a speaker, a trainer, a real estate investor and most importantly I became a Mom of two great kids, who I continuously strive to be a great role model for.

I believed in myself and I believed in continuous self improvement.

And it all started by attending that seminar (against my will) at age 24.

Now, I attend at least one self improvement seminar a year. I read self-help books, watch videos, and listen to audio CDs, tapes and podcasts on a regular basis.

In fact, I know that investing in my own personal growth and having mentors  has helped me reach my goals over the years.  Stats show that people who become successful have embraced personal development and mentorship.

It feeds my mind. My mind needs nourishment too, if I want it to grow.

Today, more and more people take part in personal growth. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry.

As Tony Robbins says, Personal growth and success mean something different for everyone, but there are some basic habits that you can tailor to your own life to ensure you continue to grow. By creating a foolproof personal growth plan, you prepare yourself to tackle any obstacle in the way of your goals and work toward becoming the best version of you possible.”

We all need to grow.  Why?

Because, as Brandon Gaille, Marketing Expert and Blogmaster, states:

“The primary goal of humanity is to be a little bit better tomorrow than today.”

So, you may think it’s crazy but why not try it?

It doesn’t hurt to learn about it, and who knows you may even love it!

“The people who think they are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones who do!” – Steve Jobs
