Are You Still Searching For Your Pot of Gold?

Reading time: minute(s)

This past Saturday was St Paddy’s Day, the day most of us celebrate the luck of the Irish.  We wear green and usually partake in celebrations to mark the day – parades, get togethers, etc.

We even named our dog Guinness because we rescued him on St Paddy’s Day and he is black, tan and white.

So when we think of Ireland we sometimes think of Leprechauns chasing the ‘pot of gold’  at the end of the rainbow. Its a legend that was introduced us at childhood and supported by such products as ‘Lucky Charms’ the breakfast cereal.

But a lot of us are still chasing the pot of gold in our lives.  Why?

Because we think the ‘pot of gold’ has to do only with money.  We think that more money is the answer to what we want – status, wealth, and happiness.

That’s why we get into debt.

That’s why we live beyond our means.

That’s why we buy lotto tickets.

That’s why we gamble.

That’s why we max out our credit cards and credit lines.

We want money the easy way.  Easy money is not satisfying.  And usually leads to debt.

There was a time when I was chasing the money, thinking it was my ‘pot of gold’, even when I knew it didn’t align with my values.

I don’t know if it was because I was young, just out of high school and didn’t know any different,  or if it was this notion that I had to follow what others were saying and doing.

It wasn’t until I went to a personal growth weekend seminar, called Master Key at the age of 24, that I started to look at not chasing money, instead I began working on my limiting beliefs and focusing on being in abundance.

This mindset shift was the difference maker.

So, for me, my ‘pot of gold’ has been and always is, growing to be the best version of myself.

“There is no substitute for hard work.  There is no such thing as overnight success or easy money.”  – Henry Sy, Business Magnate, Investor, Philanthropist.

So what really is the ‘pot of gold’ all about?

I would argue that everyone has a different ‘pot of gold’ that’s at the end of the rainbow.

Perhaps it is wealth, or a beautiful relationship, or a loving family, or caring friends, or a joyful lifestyle, or a fulfilling career, or even grandchildren, etc.

Whatever it is, your ‘pot of gold’ matters to you!

Not to others.  It does not matter what others may think, only what matters to you.

Do  you know what it is?

Have you found it already?

If not, do you even know what it is?

Finding your ‘pot of gold’ is all about determining what is important to you.  Money may help you get to it but it is certainly not your ‘pot of gold’.

You can find it!  And by doing so, it will change your life forever!

We all need a dream.  We all need hope. We all need a goal.  We all need direction. We all need a pot of gold at the end of our rainbow.” – Tsunyota Kohet, Author
