“Lead me, follow me, or get the hell out of my way!”
I love this quote from General George S. Patton, the famous World War II Army Commander.
Patton was definitely a successful military leader, but he was also a follower, following the directions of his superiors to achieve the overall goal. He could visualize what needed to be done and needed his leaders and followers to do their part.
He was also impatient.
If leaders and followers did not do their part, he had no time for them.
His quote obviously conveys urgency and this can be applied to everything we do in life.
So when I look at my business inside of the network marketing model, I see an immediate connection.
I can visualize what needs to be done and where I want to get my business to. But I can’t do it alone.
None of us can. And neither could Patton.
So I need my success leaders/mentors to provide me with the direction, guidance and support to move forward. Then I can take this training and teach my team so they can get the growth they are looking for.
And I need my followers, my team members, to follow what I have learned from my leaders and duplicate since this is a duplication business.
It is the only way my business and their business will grow. It’s that simple.
And when leaders are not leading and followers are not following, then as Patton says “get the hell out of my way”.
So work with your leaders and team members who do their part, who walk the walk, who duplicate, who follow the plan, and who lead with integrity.
By doing so, your business will definitely grow. It’s a natural win-win.
