Vision is defined by the English Oxford Dictionary in four ways.
The one I want to talk about today is: the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.
For example, “the organization has lost its vision and direction”.
Do you have a vision for yourself and what you want to do/be in life?
Does your business have a vision?
“The only thing worse than being blind, is having sight but no vision.” – Helen Keller
If you and your business do, then congratulate yourself. Many people and businesses do not.
One of the things I learned a long time ago in personal development, was to have a vision.
And one way of doing that was by building a vision board.
Why?
Because it has been proven that if something you want or be is visible to you everyday, then you have a greater chance of achieving it.
My vision board sits in front of me in my home office, and helps me keep focused on where I want to go.
My vision for my business is also something that my team is aware of as well. The team knows the vision and what we are all working towards.
Now let me ask you, is your vision current?
You see even your vision has to be kept up to date.
Companies establish their vision early on and as the company grows the vision then has to grow too. If it doesn’t then the company reaches an end point.
Its like setting goals – once you have reached them then you have to set new ones.
Vision is no different. And you are no different than your business.
Look at your current vision. Does it make sense? Does it have to grow?
If you don’t have one, create one! If you have one, expand your vision today.
Build a vision board and display it proudly.
You will be glad you did.
