It’s summer and half way through 2019, so I’m guessing this time of year may have you dreaming about the lifestyle you want to live.

Thinking about it is a good start, but to make it a reality you need to take action.  You need to use your time and resources to build a residual income type business which will give you ultimate freedom if done the right way.

Having freedom of time so you can spend your days doing what you want, when you want and with who you want is what most people desire.

I know for me, my goal was to get out of the rat race, work less, earn more and really live my purpose and fulfill my dreams.  How about you?

To regain control of your time and income, start with these three simple steps:

Know Your “Why”

First, recognize why you want to start a business and earn passive income.  The obvious answer is that you want to make more money, but think beyond that.

Find that driving force that compels you to work through tough times and make your business work no matter what kind of challenges you face.  For some people, their “why” is to spend more time with family and for others, it’s to take their business and career in any direction they want, without having to work with a boss.

Define your “why” and then use it as motivation and to help give you purpose. Writing down what motivates you and why you are pursuing this can help keep you stay on track.  You will feel more rewarded when you succeed plus it’s a gauge to help you determine if you are achieving what you set out to do.

Do Your Due Diligence

This is a must!  When I invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into my realestate portfolio, I make sure this is the one major thing I do before I move forward.

If you want to succeed in a direct sales business you need to do your due diligence as well. You wouldn’t dive into any other business without learning what you need to do, make money and grow your organization. So why would you start direct sales without doing your homework?

Doing your due diligence means learning what makes a good opportunity, how to leverage your resources, how to invest wisely and how to lead a successful team.  When you learn all you can about the business you want to work in, you will be more likely to succeed and less likely to get involved in something that won’t be lucrative.

Run Your Business Like a Pro

While a business inside the network marketing industry does give you freedom, it still takes work.  So many people get sold the ‘lottery idea’ on this model, and this is just not the case.

Run your business like a professional so you’ll reach your fullest potential and you will earn more.  Look at your business as a business, not as a hobby or a side job.

Be willing to put the time and resources into it that will be necessary to make it successful so you can get to the point where you are spending less time at work and still earning a higher income.
