My good friend, Dr. Nathalie Beauchamp, Canada’s top Chiropractor & Functional Medicine Expert says, “Don’t just wait for better health, take action and design your life.”
This is the month that everyone goes wild on their health and wellness, especially focusing on weight loss. But, I’m sure you know that most people stop their program by the 3rd week in January!
Today men and women live to the ripe age of 80 and 84 years respectively, according the Stats Canada. Sounds pretty good doesn’t it?
But what is the quality of life in those later years? Many are dealing with serious health issues that started well before.
Did you know that over 95% of the world’s population has health problems, with over 1/3 having more than 5 ailments?
You know we take a lot of things for granted in our life.
We are fortunate to live in a country that provides national health care. That is why 92% are very satisfied with living in Canada.
However, that satisfaction can change overnight with a call from your Doctor.
“Health is not valued until sickness comes.” – Thomas Fuller, Author, Historian
The leading causes of death related to heath in Canada are cancer, heart disease, stroke, lower respiratory disease (from pollution, smoking and second-hand smoke) and diabetes.
Most are attributed to excessive smoking and alcohol consumption, poor diet and lack of nutrition, and a sedentary lifestyle.
In Canada, many people think that the the healthcare system will take care of them once they get sick. The truth is, it won’t.
You have to change your mindset from healthcare to selfcare.
That means taking ownership of your own health, not leaving it to the doctors who are too busy or to the system that really doesn’t care.
It means you need to educate yourself and make personal wellness a priority.
That is why Dr. Nathalie wrote her most recent book, Hack Your Health Habits that explains the basics to a lifestyle to help you maintain good health.
“If you change just one habit a month, and after a year – people have can have amazing results,” says Dr. Beauchamp.
“There are ways to train ourselves into making the right food, vitamin and other choices on a regular basis, making it a habit,” she says.
I highly recommend her book & online program.
Since I have been in the health and wellness business, I have learned what the key components are to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and I practice applying them every day. You should too.
