As I walk the beach for 13 km everyday here in Florida, I’m reminded of the phrase, “trust the process”. You see, one of my health goals is to increase my strength and endurance so I can feel more vibrant and radiant in my energy. It’s been only two weeks, but I’m already seeing that the process is working for me.
It today’s world, too many people are trying to ‘rush the process’ with their instant gratification mentality.
Over the years in business, there were many times, I wanted my business to grow faster, but I had to remind myself to trust the process. And when I did, amazing results happened and it didn’t seem to take that long… after all.
So, what are a few things we can do, to stay in the zone and really trust the process?
Keep Improving
When you start anything, you have to fail a few times. It’s important to keep learning, then adjust and apply new skills with continued improvement.
Athletes don’t win the race until they have gone through hours and hours of practice. For example, my daughter, a competitive swimmer practiced daily before and after school (4 hours per day) for her middle and high school years. She became a top swimmer in her age group, earned a full college scholarship and then became the captain of the university swim team, all as a result of trusting the process.
Entrepreneurs and business owners don’t become successful until they have continuously worked their business, even when it seems repetitive and at times, rather tedious.
Get A Mentor
Don’t be too proud to learn from your mentors. If it wasn’t for them, my business would not be where it is today. In our business model of direct sales, mentorship is built into our training and coaching programs. This is essential for your growth personally and professionally. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel, there is much to say about the experience they bring to you, so that you can gain the results you’re looking for.
Be Focused
As my mentor says, be relentless in your actions and stay focused on the long term goal. The achievements week by week, month by month are a good thing, but hold the vision for a greater outcome. Focus on the the income producing activities that will bring you the fastest and most sustainable results. It takes preparation, but once you have that in place you must stick to the plan.
Work As A Team
Each team member brings their talents to the table that lead to win-win results. With any championship team in any sport, it all comes together as each person plays their part to win the game. In business, this is how leverage works too. You can tap into their talent and incredible assets which then contributes to the success of the team.
If I’ve learned anything over the years in business and life, is that having a mentor to guide me was a big part of my results. I learned from my experiences, good and bad, along with consistent self improvement and of course, trusting the process.
