Pick the path that lights you up, is what I’m excited to talk about today!
Over the years, I have become a loyal follower of the writer and New York Times bestselling author, Yung Pueblo. The title of this blog is in fact, the first line of an excerpt from his book, “Lighter”.
Yung goes on to say that the path that lights you up is the one you know deep down is the right choice.
We know it in our gut, our second brain.
Yet too often we let our own fears, anxieties and doubts stop us from following that path or making that choice.
To make that ‘right choice’, it takes courage to get past the ‘FADs’ – Fears, Anxieties, Doubts.
Unfortunately, many people settle for a safe, mediocre life instead of living their risky but exciting passion.
When I look back on my life, I believe that I made decisions that lit me up.
Not all worked out but I am so glad I still made those choices rather than wonder what would have happened.
From owning a franchise, investing in real estate to building a network marketing business.
I jumped into things because all of these ‘lit me up!’
As I sit here in Puerto Vallarta in my second home, reflecting on this topic, I know the decision to invest in a property here is what truly lights me up.
I have also met so many amazing people who have done exactly what Yung speaks about.
My good friend gave up her financial business and high paced life in Vancouver, to be doing something she loves here in Mexico.
Sure it still takes effort.
And you do have to stop listening to your self-doubt and believe in yourself, but as Yung says “lean into your determination, lean into your mission and lean into your real you” and you will live the life that you are so capable of living.
So I urge you to follow Yung Pueblo and start picking “the path that lights you up”. It is never too late to start.
