How To Influence Your Team

Reading time: minute(s)

I asked myself the other day if my team had the same vision as I did about our business.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure.

Although I had shared the vision and the big picture with them, there were always questions in my mind, and those questions usually arose from discussions with my top leaders and their actions.

So, was I not getting through to them?

How to influence your team.

We all know that what we say and what people hear (or comprehend) are not always the same.

Sometimes it is because they have heard it from you so often before… that it goes in one ear and out the other:)

I have attended many leadership and business building conventions in the past to know that sometimes you need to hear it directly from the global experts, and in person!

You have to feel the energy in the room to have the message really sink in.

Ask not what your teammates can do for you. Ask what you can do for your teammates. – Magic Johnson, NBA Player and Executive President

have always urged our team to attend our company’s annual convention.

Don’t get me wrong, it is very important to do that – to learn the latest and develop new relationships.

But it is also limited in scope and focused primarily on there core business.

What I wanted my team to see was the bigger vision – what all the experts from various organizations have to share to help our team to grow and explode.

An event that I can’t really explain to them but one they have to experience themselves.

So my team leader and I took a chance and bought additional tickets for this year’s convention and encouraged our team members to attend.

It was risky as we had to convince them that it would be worth their expenditures in time and money. We could have been out of pocket for all of those tickets.

But we were successful and we had our team at this industry event.

Well, it was a tremendous success, so successful, that now are team members have purchased additional tickets for next year so that they can bring more of their individual team members to the 2019 event.

This will expose them to ideas, information, processes and more, so that will can help each one of them grow their business.

“I realized that to earn more, I needed to become more.” – Eric Worre, President, Network Marketing Pro

They left the convention on fire about what they are doing, but not in a hype-way.

Most importantly, in a confident way that has locked in their belief so they can build a business with integrity that adds value to people’s lives.

“We cannot become what we need by remaining what we are.” – John C. Maxwell

So that’s one way to influence your team, by leveraging a convention that gives each team members so much value as well as the bigger vision!  And they hear it from the experts.

I’m all about looking for ways to help our teams grow and make an incredible impact.

Contact me here so I can help you do the same.
