90 Day Game Plan

Reading time: minute(s)

It’s the beginning of the 3rd quarter of the year and that is why I want to talk about a 90 day game plan.  I know things are not the same as last year, but it’s interesting and surprising how well our businesses are thriving during this economic crisis.

Do you have your 90 day game plan in place?

I ask this question of a lot of people that I coach and train and many say they do, but when I ask them to show it to me, it does not materialize.  It’s so easy to think about a 90 day game plan, but it’s another to implement it.  I’m actually quite amazed at how many entrepreneurs and business owners don’t have a game plan at all and seem to just fly by the seat of their pants.

Today’s uncertain economy absolutely requires us to have a plan.

When it comes to taking action in your business, you do need a game plan to follow, otherwise you won’t stay accountable to your goals.  My good friend and mentor Garrett McGrath, President of the ANMP (Association of Network Marketing Professionals) insists on breaking down the year into four 90 day blocks.

When I first started in my business, I was coached and mentored on a 90 day game plan and to executive my business activities on a weekly basis.  Little did I know that this discipline (working part time hours from home) would replace my full income from my previous job in less than a year.

This is when I realized the power of a clear 90 day game plan (strategy) and how rewarding it can be financially and lifestyle wise.  Garret McGrath always compares network marketing to an aircraft taking off the runway.  The pilot does not use minimum or reduced power to get off the ground – he has the throttles full forward – in other words he is using all of the available power.

By doing so, It guarantees a successful take off on the runway.

So that is the main purpose of the ninety-day game plan. It’s about applying full power. It’s a plan of massive action over 3 months to get your business launched and earning you a reasonable income.  It also means that you have developed a sustainable team and customer base, that will continue to grow.

In our business model of network marketing, most companies focus on a 90 day game plan of some sort to get you up and running.  So let’s talk about some of the components of your 90 day game plan.

1. You have to understand your ‘why’ for doing the business.

This is important as you will always go back to your ‘why’ when leading the team and speaking to prospects.  Develop your own story and be able to state it in a brief but powerful way.

Perhaps your “why” is to create extra money and what it will allow you to do.  Build a freedom lifestyle, or give back, or maybe it’s for better health, whatever it may be, have the story ready to tell.

2.  Create your vision of the next 90 days and beyond.

Your team has to know this as well, and be committed to it.  So it could be earning a certain income in that 90 day time frame and then setting the goals for 6 months and one year.  You also have to commit to a number of hours/week that you are going to do the business.

3.  Establish your daily, weekly and monthly objectives to meet the 90 day goal.

This includes how many people you will connect with each week, conduct zoom meetings and attend trainings provided.  By doing so and sharing with your team, you are setting the example for them to emulate.

4.  Develop your contact list and commit to the daily and weekly connections.

If you don’t connect with people and share the business you will never meet your 90 day goal.  It is as simple as that.

5.  Use social media on a daily and weekly basis.

This can be as simple as Facebook messages or curiosity posts or invitations to webinars that you have scheduled.  All of these can generate interest in your business as well as produce new leads.

6.   Train, coach and mentor your team.

Remember, this business model of network marketing is not about doing it all yourself, although you do have to work at it too, but it is about leveraging your team.  So as your team grows, spend time with them helping them to grow their teams as well.  Follow the onboarding systems in place to get them started and help them focus on their goals and dreams.

7.  Use of the tools available to you.

The ease and flow will happen when you use the various tools available to help you succeed.  Make sure you use them and follow the system that they represent.  Believe me, re-inventing the wheel will not work.  It will definitely waste time and will absolutely confuse your team.  Stick to the system and your team will too!

8.  Share your 90 day plan with your team leader and be accountable to him or her.

If you are not being accountable to someone, how can you expect your team to be accountable to you.  Check in with your mentor on a regular basis to go over your plan, what’s working and what’s not working.  Leverage them so that you can meet your goals faster.

Do you have a 90 game plan?

If not, why not?  If you want to succeed in a network marketing business or any business for that matter, you need a sense of urgency.  Only by having a plan, will you commit to it, have clarity of what has to be done, and have your team fully on board.
