It has been an amazing week with the launch of Evolv Canada this past Monday, but I did not want to miss out on sharing something that I believe is the magic key to business building, yes… even in a network marketing business. Being able to increase your sales and grow your business is the key to success.

My good friend, Lisa Larter posted a video blog on 3 Things to Increase Sales. I was so impressed that I asked her if I could share it with my readers and she was so gracious as to say yes. In this vlog she states what I have also learned through my years of being in retail (at the corporate level and as a franchise owner) and, most recently, in my direct sales career. I have used the same principals that Lisa discusses and they have continually brought me great success.

I don’t want to give away her 3 secrets here so Click below to view the video from Lisa’s blog:

And, don’t miss part 2 of the discussion here: http://www.lisalarter.com/BlogThoughts/?p=271

Are you leaving your sales to fate? While sales numbers will never just magically increase, you can use the magic formula to create that growth and pull nothing but success out of your hat! Please share your “magic” sales tips with the rest of us in the comments section. I’m looking forward to reading what has worked for you!

The events of the last couple of weeks are quite a blur for me. With Evolv Canada officially opening for business this coming Monday, February 22nd, I have been busier than ever. The excitement which grows with each day, and the pride at seeing the results of all of our hard work, continues to amaze me.

I can’t help but be awed by the impact of this wonderful company on the lives of so many people. New consultants are joining us in record numbers. These are people who can be described as nothing less than savvy, smart, successful business women and men and they would have never even considered network marketing before Evolv. Now, they can’t wait to get going and share this opportunity and product with the rest of the world!

Are you wondering why Evolv is such an attraction for these people? Just what makes Evolv different? Well, you definitely came to the right place because I have the answers you’re looking for:

Evolv Health is considered to be the next breakthrough company in network marketing (much as Apple and Google were in their respective fields).

It is a progressive company with outstanding leadership that has created a culture of putting people first.

They have shown themselves in only three months to be on the forefront of philanthropic efforts as evidenced by the shipment of more than 43,000 bottles of Evolv Water through Convoy of Hope to relief efforts in Haiti.

Evolv Water is a zero competition, science backed product that is proven effective, easy to use and affordable.

It is a product that requires no change in personal habits (often one of the most difficult hurdles to overcome in any sales endeavour) as water is the most consumable product on the planet.

It is a repeatable, consumable product which quickly builds residual income.

Claims are backed not only by science, but also by athletes who are endorsing the product based upon their experiences.

Some of our newest team members can’t sing the praises of Evolv enough and had the following to say when they were asked why they want to join my team:

I love that you and your Evolv members are team focused, ethical and hard working!

It is easy to see the integrity and great work ethic surrounding this opportunity.

The ability and ease of leveraging the skill of team members makes it easy to get started.

With the product, endorsements, ongoing scientific research and the help of a team, the only limit to the money you can make is yourself.

The product is very exciting to share and, in this case, it has great sex appeal!

Evolv injects fun into business building!

If you find that you’re intrigued and want more information on Evolv don’t hesitate to contact me. I can’t wait to tell you more!

Wow! The last few weeks have just flown by. The launch of Evolv Canada is tomorrow and, while it has been quite the roller coaster ride, I’ve loved every second of it!

I’ve been thinking a lot over the past couple of weeks about how amazing it is that a new business venture can evoke such strong emotions. My emotions have truly run the gamut this week from anticipation to excitement and pride. Just like a parent, I’ve watched Evolv grow from it’s infancy here in Canada into this amazing young adult with tons of potential and a bright future ahead. I am so proud of my part in this and am thrilled that everyone will now get to see the fruits of all of that labor. And, I absolutely can not wait to see what lies ahead!

I just want to thank you to all of those who have played a part in bringing this opportunity into my life and to all who have been so supportive of it. I now have to go and finish preparations for tomorrow’s event. But, I leave you with these questions – What business decisions have you made that created the same type of emotions for you and what are your feelings about your current career path?

My 16 year old son is a perfect example of a team player...

My 16 year old son is a perfect example of a team player. He is always encouraging his teammates to “keep going” and continuously recognizes them for their efforts. Hockey and football coaches alike have shared the same types of comments about Kevin – “one of the most respected players on the team”, “great sportsmanlike conduct”. As members of my own team, my kids teach me new lessons each and every day (wait, aren’t they supposed to be learning from me?!).

Most who know me, know that, like my kids, I am a team player. With all of the management positions I have held and the businesses that I have built over the years I’ve found that they have one critical thing in common – Team Building! Any business coach will tell you that success in business begins with the relationships that you build over time. There’s just no way around it, you will have to network! No one person can do it all themselves. And, why bother trying? It so much more fun to get others involved, work together collectively for the common goal, and achieve your goals – whether they are winning games or creating wealth.

I owe much of my success in both business and personal life to my own teammates over the years. From my teammates in real estate investments (sales rep, mortgage broker, lawyer, home inspector, banker, real estate training expert and accountant) to my partners in direct selling, I’ve learned that surrounding yourself with an excellent group of trusted and savvy professionals is the key to success. As Zig Ziglar, one of my favorite mentors, says, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

Who are your important team members? How did you find them and what processes did you follow to develop your team? I love hearing new ideas!

If you know of people who are dynamite leaders in team and relationship building or just know how to have fun connecting people, my EVOLV team is ready to meet them. Let’s keep evolving the world!

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m a big fan of goal setting. I’m constantly telling people that in order to achieve your goals the key is to “write them down!” By putting them on paper you are creating a tangible link to those goals. You’ve made them more “real” and this will help you to focus on those goals, whether they are daily ones for the short-term, or larger goals for the big picture.

I know, this is easier said than done. With our busy schedules it’s hard to get pen to paper and without that tether it’s almost impossible to keep up with them! So, here is what I do to make it more fun!

Each year, I follow my ritual of sitting down with my good friend, Dr. Nathalie and we both plan our upcoming year. We review the results of the previous year and discuss what did and didn’t work for us. We then talk about our goals for the coming year and how to be accountable to that plan. Each year, we both meet and and in some cases exceed our goals! My point is that this type of planning session works and, in keeping with the “Give, Share, Evolv” philosophy, I’m excited to share this very special treat with you!

Dr. Nathalie is offering a FREE teleseminar to get you going. I highly recommend that you attend and tap into her expertise. She is the real deal and consistently “walks her talk”. She and I are proof that her goal setting plans get results year after year. She will be sharing her techniques and some tips on this very important topic and show you how to stay on track to meeting amd exceeding your goals!

Join me Thursday, January 21st for Dr. Nathalie’s FREE teleseminar – Trust me, you’ll be glad you did! And if you have a moment, post a comment here on my blog letting me know that you’ll be attending and what you expect to get from this seminar.

One of the most popular motivational sayings these days is “Work smarter, not harder.” It always seems that the more I try and the harder I worked towards a goal, the tougher it was to attain. I never quite understood how this could happen until I really took a close look at the “Work smarter, not harder” philosophy. Remember my secret…and my love affair with my TR6? Well, I have a lot more to share with you as an example of how “Smart Work” can lead you right where you belong without you even realizing it.

As a Mom, my successes are often secondary to those of my children. While I am proud of myself and my own accomplishments, there’s just no way to explain the overwhelming sense of pride when one of your children takes what you have taught them and applies that to their own life to attain their dreams. One such success that I recently celebrated was my daughter’s graduation from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.

While her graduating from university isn’t surprising in the least, how she ended up at Missouri State as a Canadian is interesting. With safety and recreation in mind, we began her swimming at a very early age, having no idea just how far this would eventually take her. By early high school, she was a top elite swimmer with the Ottawa Swim Club. This led to her setting a goal (without our knowledge) to apply for an athletic scholarship at a Division 1 University Swim Team. As parents, we did nothing more than guide her, and she did the rest. She was accepted on a Division 1 Team, is an honour student, and in her fourth year, is the Captain of the Swim Team. Stacey set the goal, but aligned it with her purpose and values. By working smarter, not harder, her success came naturally, as did ours as parents!

Wishing you a great year of ease and success for 2010!

In honor of the recent holidays and the upcoming New Year I am going to keep this post short and sweet. Ok, fine, I admit it. It has nothing to do with the holidays. I’m just still pretending to be in Cancun, soaking up the sun and relaxing on the sand!

With that in mind, I wanted to mention that my recent trip really brought home to me the importance of R & R. Yes, work is important, but if you aren’t giving yourself a break every once in a while you’ll burn out. You have to take the time to step back and enjoy what you’ve accomplished, otherwise what was the point of doing it? (Don’t forget, this applies to both your professional and your personal life!)

So, now that Santa has returned to the North Pole on his jet ski…errr, sleigh…on to the questions of the hour.

How was 2009 for you? What did you accomplish?

What will you be doing differently in 2010?

Yes, I know – it’s a lot of questions. But they are important ones and I can’t wait to read your responses!

I’ve found that I am very nostalgic this holiday season. Perhaps it’s the fact that my children are growing up entirely too fast (or maybe it’s just the eggnog!)...

I’ve found that I am very nostalgic this holiday season. Perhaps it’s the fact that my children are growing up entirely too fast (or maybe it’s just the eggnog!), but for the past few weeks I keep returning to Christmases of the past and reflecting on my life as a whole. Being one of four siblings you might expect that I would feel a bit left out or even overlooked. But my parents, who were self-employed, were wonderful at building a healthy family relationship pillar. As a result, I am now totally enamored with life and the wonderful people I have met along the way. It would be impossible to choose a single favourite Christmas memory to share with you, because as far back as I can remember, each one has been fantastic! However, tonight as I sit here reminiscing, one keeps returning to the forefront of my mind.

We were at St. Peters in Rome and my mother was visiting us from Edmonton. It was standing room only and the entire crowd was entranced as we listened to the inspiring words of the Pope. I looked around, taking in the scene, aware of the fact that it would be a moment I would never forget. On my left, and only a few steps away, I spotted our friends (and landlord from our Napoli villa), Filomena and Michele Diana. Immediately after the service we met with hugs and kisses, amazed that in this crowd of thousands we had found one another! After 3 years in Italy the Diana’s had become members of our extended family. It was a wonderful reunion filled with the type of holiday celebration that Italians are famous for. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to live in Italia and meet so many wonderful people who quickly went from friends to family.

To all of you who have touched my life in ways you couldn’t even imagine, Thank You and I send my very best wishes to you and your loved ones. I can’t wait to see what 2010 has in store for you!

Please share your favourite Christmas memories with me in the comments. I love to read those truly heartwarming stories!

As I prepared for this holiday season with decorating, wrapping gifts, and addressing cards, I kept thinking about “giving”...

As I prepared for this holiday season with decorating, wrapping gifts, and addressing cards, I kept thinking about “giving”. All over the news you see parents fighting over the hot new toy, stories of those who have very little, and articles about how the economy is hurting this season’s bottom line. It makes me wonder about the true spirit of the season and what “giving” really means. It seems that today giving is all about material things.

I then thought about the gifts that I have received throughout this past year, both physical and opportunistic, and realized the latter far outweighed the other! I am continuously amazed at how congruency plays a role in our lives…and often we don’t even know it! One of the best gifts I received this past year was the introduction, by a highly respected and trusted friend of mine, to a company by the name of Evolv Health. This opportunity has opened many doors for me and I am truly excited to be a part of it! Thinking back on my due diligence with Evolv I recalled, one of the things that really stood out about the company was the “giving” attitude of the Founder and his leadership team. The term “it’s gotta come from the top” couldn’t be anymore true when it comes to Evolv Health.

Obviously “gifts” come in many different packages, but “giving” friends and colleagues exciting new opportunities, is a gift that will keep giving many years to come. If what you are offering is in alignment with their core values, they will jump on board to help themselves and others that they care about. If it wasn’t for my long time friends sharing this gift, I would not be where I am today. I appreciate their openness in sharing the Evolv opportunity with me. And now, I’m absolutely thrilled to be “re-gifting” that present as I share my experience and the Evolv opportunity with others. I know that five years from now my business and my team will be mentoring millions of people around the globe as they evolve to reach their own personal goals and dreams.

In the spirit of the season, please share in the comments, the opportunities that you are “giving” others. What are the goals you hope to achieve in the next 5 years?
