In my travels throughout the enormous and ever changing world of social networking over the past year I’ve noticed a new trend. Everyone is talking about “change”. Not one to be left in the dust, I jumped on the change bandwagon. A new economy, new priorities, new business strategies and a new type of client pool convinced me that it was time for me to “change”. So, I began my research; learning new trends and techniques and then found that physical wellness is only the beginning. In my mind, I was “changing” and following the crowd.
It wasn’t until I happened across the following definition for Evolution that I stopped to think:
Evolution – A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form.
I looked back on my efforts for the past few months and realized that “change” didn’t do justice to all of the hard work I had done. I hadn’t bailed on my beliefs and core values in order to affect “change”. Instead, I was Evolving!
Any good professional will tell you that there is no point in change if you don’t grow through it. You have to learn from the past and grow in the future in order to succeed. Rather than “changing” myself I wanted to Evolve and teach others to do the same. Through my networking and business ventures I plan to help create an evolution in the lives of others so that they too can grow and succeed.
All that said – keep an eye out over the next few weeks for the newly Evolved Deborah Macdonald.
