Why Boring in Business is Good & Fun at the Same Time

Once you realize that business can be boring at times, you will make it a lot more fun with these 3 key elements.

I am super passionate about my business and helping others create success in their business, so as I was contemplating over the long weekend, it struck me that it is really quite simple and it can be fun at the same time.

Yet, these 3 key things are not often applied.

I am now at the stage where I apply them every day, however, it took me a while to get it, but once I did, it changed everything.

So what are they?

Well, the first one is focus.

You have to focus on your goals whether they are weekly, monthly or yearly.  Once you lose sight of them then you are doomed. Focusing on goals keeps you working on the activities you have to do every day.

“Starve your distractions, feed your focus.” – Quotes of the Day

And guess what?  Many companies in our industry help you out and give you incentives to create that focus I’m talking about.

For example, I am going to Bear Lake, North Carolina with members of my team for a Social Business Summit, thanks to a short term incentive goal from our company. All I can say is that is going to be FUN!  Learning, growing and being around like minded people who have passion and want to make a difference.

So keep focused every day by having your goals in front of you.

The second one is consistency.

Consistency is what you do every day and what you teach your team to do every day.  Doing the same things daily is what duplication is all about.

I know, you think it gets boring, but boring is good when it comes to business.  Ask any business owner and they will tell you it gets downright boring doing the same things over and over again.

Remember, your own energy will put the excitement into it, so don’t get worried if it seems boring at times:) You CAN make it fun and exciting – be who you are meant to be!

“Consistent action creates consistent results.” – Christine Kane, Singer, Songwriter & Founder of Uplevel YOU

This duplication of your actions leads to duplication by your team because then they do the same consistent things that you do and this results in business growth.

If you are not consistent in what you do, how can you expect your team to be consistent?  This means applying yourself every day.

The last one is follow-up.

We are in the people business. This means you don’t ignore anyone.

“Diligent follow-up and follow through will set you apart from the crowd and communicate excellence.” – John C. Maxwell, Author, Leadership Speaker and Pastor

If they are using your products or services, you must follow up to see how they are doing.  If they said ‘no’, you have to follow up to keep them up to date just in case something has changed in their life.

If someone sells me something (like a car) or insurance and I never hear from them again, do you think I want to come back to them for the same products or service?  No way!

Why?

Because they are indirectly indicating to me that I am not important to them.

Follow-up means staying connected, and making your client feel important and valued.

So there you have it.

Focus, consistency and follow-up.

It’s that simple!

If you want to talk more about this subject, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m all about having fun and building a business and a life at the same time. Let’s do this!
