10 years ago my sister encouraged me to take a serious look at joining a network marketing company. Though my many years in the “traditional” workforce initially caused me to be reluctant, my background in franchising and real estate investment urged me to take a closer look. I knew that before I could dismiss the idea, I had to do my due diligence.
What I found astonished me! Network marketing offered low capital costs, much higher returns on investment and sustainable residual income than my other business investments. Taking that leap of faith resulted in a new, home-based business that met my income needs. Even more impressive was the freedom that came from the flexibility in my schedule (what I call my ROIT – Return on Time Investment). It allowed me to stay home with our two kids and still kept me in the business loop – something I really needed to maintain balance in my life!
I quickly felt the need to really jumpstart my new business, and my success coach recommended that I attend the company convention. I had no idea how important big events are in building momentum. I never considered that it could impact my business in such a phenomenal way. I listened intently and absorbed everything I could. Afterwards, I took all of that back home and applied it. Then…I watched as my business literally exploded!
No matter what your business is, never underestimate the power of events. These gatherings help to educate, motivate and inspire you like nothing else can. The networking and relationship building that takes place at big events are also a great benefit. You will find that it opens doors you never even knew existed.
So, if you are sitting on the fence between success and failure, it’s time to jump off and make a change. Take the leap, believe in yourself and register for that next big event. I promise you – it will be a life changing experience!

Thanks for sharing Deborah. Looking forward to the big event in Dallas.
Hi Deborah,
Investing in yourself by attending big events is something I am finally stepping into. Next month, I am attending SHINE – Discover Your True Wealth in Las Vegas and will follow up by attending Nancy Marmolejo’s I Heart My Biz event in Anaheim in December. I really look forward to the inspiration I’ll receive to take my business to new heights and the new relationships that will take shape.
Hi Deborah
Happy Thanksgiving!
Great article. I remember being a bit nervous about the ROI on my first big event and now, I don’t think twice.
Attending conferences (especially now that you can share so much via Social Media) is definitely the way to go if you are looking for inspiration and to build momentum. In any business, any industry.
Speaking of which gotta go book my tickets to http://www.UplevelLive.com the next big event I am going to!
Have a great time in Dallas at your next event.
Lisa
